Available in four trims, the new Porsche 718 features two turbocharged, horizontally opposed engines: a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. Ranging from 300 to 350 hp, the 718 Cayman and Boxster are sleek sports cars that pack a serious punch. The next-level 718 Cayman S and Boxster S trims rev from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds with the manual, while incorporating the PDK takes their acceleration times down to an impressive 4.2 seconds. Reaching top track speeds of 177 mph, the speedy Porsche 718 coupe or convertible is a must-see for motorsports fanatics!
Tremendously powerful and fast-accelerating, the Porsche 718 lineup comes armed with an assortment of standard and optional features for masterful handling. The new direct steering system features lightweight axle components and a wide track, and adds an extra half an inch to the rear wheels, making it easier to carve corners and maintain directional stability. Featuring two modes – Normal and Sport – the optional Porsche Active Suspension Management system modifies the damping force for each wheel, and responds to different road conditions on the fly. Available with the PDK, the Sport Chrono Package tacks on Launch Control, an athletic gearshift strategy, and a SPORT Response – each designed to enhance handling while drawing the maximum amount of power from the turbo engines.
The performance-oriented cabin brags multiple decorative schemes, as well as colors for the soft top trims. In the cockpit, Fremont and Newark drivers can unwind in sports seats with an available 18-way power-adjustment and memory feature. For added comfort in chilly weather or on long drives, heated and ventilated seats and 2-zone air conditioning can be installed. The Porsche-crested steering wheel is available in three variations: Sports, multi-function, and SportDesign, with gearshift paddles for the PDK. The new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 7-inch multi-touchscreen makes an appearance in all 718 trims’ cockpits, and lets drivers access Bluetooth, the optional BOSE Surround-Sound System, and an optional online navigation system.
